ABOUT COACHING STYLE CLASSES
These classes are for people that want to be involved in the training process and enjoy learning a little bit about dog training. We will coach you to the best of our ability during class, but we do not train your dog for you. We coach you through the training techniques each week, assist with dogs during classes, and talk you through any problems you may be having. Your dog's progress will depend largely on how much you are willing to practice on your own time, your training mechanics, and your willingness and ability to follow our training plans and instructions as taught in class.

General information about our coaching classes.
Our curriculum is intended to provide foundational skills and fun activities for all attendees. We know that life can be busy and sometimes it's not always possible to put in as much practice as you'd like in a week. While we will be building on skills incrementally week-to-week, if you find yourself short of time, we recommend prioritizing training to focus on the skills that are the most important. You can revisit other behaviors later as time permits. We recommend trying to stay on track with both RECALL (coming when called) and, SIT exercises. These will be your go-to behaviors for general impulse control and are the foundation for all other training. Classes are held once a week and include 6-sessions. It's best to enroll when you can attend all your sessions in a 6-week time frame for consistency.
BEHAVIOR ISSUES?
While we are able to offer our clients a range of obedience training options in our coaching classes, we cannot address severe behavior problems without taking a behavior history and these are done through our PPDT or Behavior Modification Programs. Try to think of behavior challenges as things that upset the dog.
My dog hides from...
My dog hates...
My dog growls when...
My dog snaps at...
My dog is stressed when...
My dog is afraid when....
If your dog is aggressive towards other dogs or people, overly shy, uncomfortable around strangers, or is experiencing fear issues in new locations theses classes are probably not appropriate for you and your dog.
Our coaching classes do not include any kind of behavior modification training for the following problems. We are happy to talk to you about these types of behaviors in a separate consultation.
We would like to help you with them, but want to do it the right way. Our goal is to provide high-quality service and support for these types of behaviors and there are loads of variables we need to consider when setting out to modify them. Without taking the time to assess your dog and what triggers are causing the behaviors, we'd be doing both you and your dog a disservice. If something comes up with your pup and you're not sure if it's serious, just ask us! Dogs sometimes do things that look crazy and are completely normal. We're here to assist you in getting the help you need. We'll let you know if it's just normal development or if a behavioral session needs to be scheduled.
