ABOUT COACHING STYLE CLASSES
These classes are designed for individuals who wish to be actively involved in the dog training process and enjoy learning about it. Our trainers will guide you through our training techniques during class, but we do not train your dog for you. We will assist you with your dog during classes and provide solutions to any issues you might be facing. However, your dog's progress will mostly depend on your willingness to practice on your own time, your training mechanics, and your ability to follow the training plans and instructions provided in class. It is important to note that these classes are not intended to address behavioral issues such as reactivity, aggression, or fear-related problems. PUPPY LIFE SKILLS CLASS (for dogs 8 weeks to 6 months)
This class is designed for new puppy owners who want to establish good habits, prevent bad behaviors, and learn how to begin the obedience process. We will teach you how to train your puppy to sit, lie down, come, and walk on a leash. We will also discuss your dog's unique genetics and how it can influence their behavior. We will show you how to engage your puppy in structured play activities such as "chase and catch," and "tug games," which are crucial for their development. You will also learn about the best ways to potty train your puppy, how to deal with biting and chewing, how to introduce your puppy to other dogs, children, and strangers, and what age-appropriate activities are suitable for your new puppy's social and environmental development.

General information about our coaching classes.
Our classes are designed to provide essential skills and enjoyable activities for all participants. We understand that life can get busy, and it may not be possible to dedicate as much time to practice as you would like. However, we will be building on skills gradually week by week. Therefore, if you find yourself with limited time, we recommend prioritizing training on the most crucial skills. You can always revisit other behaviors later when you have more time.
BEHAVIOR ISSUES?
While we can offer our clients a range of obedience training options in our coaching classes, we cannot address severe behavior problems without taking a behavior history and these are done through our Behavior Modification Programs. Try to think of behavior challenges as things that upset the dog.
My dog hides from...
My dog hates...
My dog growls when...
My dog snaps at...
My dog is stressed when...
My dog is afraid when....
My dog lunges at.....
If your dog is aggressive towards other dogs or people, overly shy, uncomfortable around strangers, or is experiencing fear issues these classes are probably not appropriate for you and your dog.
Our coaching classes do not include any kind of behavior modification training for the following problems. We are happy to talk to you about these types of behaviors in a separate consultation.
We would like to help you with them but want to do it the right way. Our goal is to provide high-quality service and support for these types of behaviors and there are loads of variables we need to consider when setting out to modify them. Without taking the time to assess your dog and what triggers are causing the behaviors, we'd be doing both you and your dog a disservice. If something comes up with your pup and you're not sure if it's serious, just ask us! Dogs sometimes do things that look crazy and are completely normal. We're here to assist you in getting the help you need. We'll let you know if it's just normal development or if a behavioral session needs to be scheduled.
