Frequently asked questions
- Puppy Life Skills: Your puppy must be between 8 weeks and 5 months of age. We require that your puppy has been in your home for at least 10 days, has had its first vaccination in a series, and is healthy and free from illness.
- Basic Obedience Training / Coaching Class: Your dog must be 6 months of age or older, current on all vaccinations including Rabies, and free from illness.
- Moving Beyond the Basics Coaching Class: Your dog must be at least 6 months of age and have attended one of the above-listed classes or have trainer approval before enrolling in this class. For ready dogs, we can help you prepare your dog for off-leash reliability. All vaccinations are required.
- Board and Train Programs: Your dog must be 6 months of age, current on all vaccinations including Rabies, Parvo, and Kennel Cough, healthy, no severe separation anxiety issues. We have an application process for this program.
- Do you guarantee results? Canine Training Academy guarantees your dog will be trained ethically and humanely. We guarantee that our training methods are well-vetted techniques and that we will apply training plans for your dog that are goal-oriented, achievable, and safe, while always working toward long-term behavioral refinement and improvement.
Ethically, we cannot guarantee anything further. As with any living creature, we cannot always predict how your dog will behave in every situation. Guarantees in training or behavior modification are not always possible as behavior can change in response to the environment. Many things can contribute to behavior changes in your dog, for instance; medical problems, household and owner compliance, environmental conditions or stimuli, and emotional responses created by repeated exposure to triggers can all cause behavior to change at any time. Therefore guarantees are just not possible or ethical.
